Grand opening of Dinex H2 Fuel Cell Lab

Dinex’ Hydrogen Fuel Cell Lab in Bayreuth, Germany is now officially opened and ready to accelerate the research in high-efficient fuel cells for Heavy Duty applications.

At a grand event earlier this week Dinex CEO Torben Dinesen, Dr. Thomas Wolf and Dr. Hans-Jörg Rembor marked the opening with the honorable participation of the city of Bayreuth’s Oberbürgmeister Thomas Ebersberger and Dr. Daniel Leykam from the University of Bayreuth.

The lab activities combines Dinex’ extensive experience as an OEM supplier for the Heavy Duty Automotive industry and work with development of advanced catalyst technologies, with the research and engineering capabilities of the University of Bayreuth. Jointly, Dinex and the University have teamed up in the so called “CCMplus” project, which has received funding by the State of Bavaria.

The first aim is to produce a commercially successful sample of a Hydrogen CCM (Catalyst Coated Membrane), that demonstrates an unmatched balance between performance, cost-efficiency and durability. But naturally the long term-term goal is to be ready for serial production as the need for fuel cell driven Heavy Duty vehicles ramps up as a part of the decarbonization journey of on-road transportation.
